History of the League
In the 1930s, soccer experienced a surge in popularity in the country. In 1948 with the birth of the Francisco Morazán Major Football League, the idea to organize football began to take shape.
C.D. Olimpia, C.D. Federal, C.D. Motagua, C.D. Argentina and Real C.D. España are the pioneers of the Liga Mayorn 1948 the first championship began in the recently inaugurated Estadio Tiburcio Carías Andinoas C.D. Victoria were made champions by beating Motagua; and three years later, in 1951, they repeated the trick. Due to the high support the League received at this time, the Confederacy Sports School Extra of Honduras(F.N.D.E.H.) was founded.
The cancellation of the court of the Francisco Morazán Stadium of San Pedro Sula was the catalyst that caused the sport's leaders of the northern and central parts of Honduras to join forces and caused the disappearance of the F.N.D.E.H.
On 8 March 1951, Juan Manuel Galvez gave life to the F.N.D.E.H. when he signed the presidential decree I number 97 and he vouched for the execution of the first Sports Congress that was carried out in the installations of the abandoned "National Gymnasium Rubén Callejas Valentine".
A decade after the creation of the F.N.D.E.H. and under the leadership of Hémerito F. Hernández, and also under Féderico Bunker Aguilar who had pioneered CONCACAF's creation at the same time, the idea to create the First National League of Soccer took shape between 1962 and 1963. Thanks in part to the aid of executives such as Alejandro Talbott that had studied in Mexico, the structure of that country's league was copied.

A well-known duo performing with a fusion of reggaeton and urban rhythms, Cesar Castaneda (Csarec), singer and composer, born in San Pedro Sula, and Jaime Colindres (Jimmy James), singer and songwriter, born in Tegucigalpa, have become one of the most famous duos in Honduras. Csarec and Jimmy James both dreamed of being artists/singers from a very young age, writing their own lyrics and making their own music. They eventually fused their styles and became what is now known as “Yerbaklan”.
In 2005, Csarec and Jimmy James were recognized as “Duo of the Year”,
and received top radio and television rotations with their hit “La
Vaquerita”. They even traveled and performed, promoting Honduran music
throughout Guatemala and San Pedro,

A typical meal in Honduras usually includes rice, beans, tortillas, some kind of grilled meat such as chicken or beef, and a salad. On the Caribbean coast or in the Bay Islands, seafood dominates Honduras cuisine. No travel taste test of Honduras food is complete without fresh fish, shrimp, lobster or the endlessly versatile conch (caracol in Spanish). In large Honduras cities like Tegucigalpa, San Pedro Sula, and La Ceiba, big American restaurant chains are cropping up with increasing frequency. Don't be surprised to find T.G.I. Friday's, Pizza Hut, Kentucky Fried Chicken, and even Cinnabon. Other Honduras meals: Burritas: shredded meat, refried beans, cheese and avocado rolled up in flour tortillas. Different from Mexican burritos. Tamales: in Honduras cuisine, tamales may include vegetables or potatoes as well as chicken or pork. Beware before you bite, as bones are sometimes left in the meat! Pastelitos de Carne: deep-fried flour pastries filled with meat, rice and/or potatoes. Snacks & Sides in Honduras: Anafres: (pictured) a traditional Honduras appetizer comprised of hot black beans and cheese, served with chips. Tostones: crunchy deep-fried plantains, an indispensable side dish in Honduran cuisine. Also known as platanos fritos. Ceviche: chopped raw fish, shrimp, or conch mixed with onions, tomatoes and cilantro, and marinated in lime juice. Served with fresh tortilla chips. Popular in every coastal region. Honduran Desserts: Tres Leches Cake (Pasel de Tres Leches): A cake soaked in three kinds of milk, including evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk and cream. Arroz con Leche: Rice soaked in warm milk with sugar, cinnamon and other spices. Also known as Honduran rice pudding. Beverages in Honduras: Popular Honduras beer brands are Salva Vida, Port Royal, Barena and Imperial. Guaro, a sugar cane liquor, is popular in Honduras. If you're daring, you might seek out some Giffity, a fiery Garifuna liquor. Where to Eat & What You'll Pay: In mainland Honduras, food is cheaper than that of other nations in Central America. Expect Honduras food to be more expensive in the Bay Islands of Utila, Roatan and Guanaja, where almost everything (besides seafood!) must be shipped in.
Colón
is one of the 18 departments into which the Central American nation of Honduras is divided. It was created in 1881. The departmental capital is Trujillo, and the other main city is Tocoa. Colon harbors a substantial Garifuna population and has pristine beaches and rainforested national parks. The Fort of Santa Barbara, built by the Spaniards in the colonial era, was the site of the execution of US filibuster William Walker in Trujillo, and his remains are buried in the city's graveyard.
The department covers a total surface area of 8,875 km² and, in 2007, had an estimated population of 284,900 people.

History :
Little is known of the rulers of Copán before the founding of a new dynasty with its origins at Tikal in the early 5th century AD, although the city's origins can be traced back to the Preclassic period. After this, Copán became one of the more powerful Maya city states and was a regional power in the southern Maya region, although it suffered a catastrophic defeat at the hands of its former vassal state Quirigua in 738, when the long-ruling king Uaxaclajuun Ub'aah K'awiil was captured and beheaded by Quirigua's ruler K'ak' Tiliw Chan Yopaat (Cauac Sky). Although this was a major setback, Copán's rulers began to build monumental structures again within a few decades.
